What is Cradle to Cradle Design?
Green-minded architect and designer William McDonough asks what our buildings and products would look like if designers took into account “all children, all species, for all time.” |
Architect William McDonough calls for remaking the way we make things by transforming human industry through ecologically intelligent design.
He argues that the current industrial system that “takes, makes and wastes” can become a creator of goods and services that generate ecological, social and economic value. |

| Hi, glad to see this group. I am just getting into the Wiser Earth community. I ran a network called the Waste to Profit Network for the City of Chicago for several years which focused on creating by-product synergies. I am interested in catching up on what anyone may be doing to combine by-product synergy or industrial symbiosis with Cradle to Cradle concepts. The National Industrial Symbiosis Programme in the UK at http://www.nisp.org.uk/ was the inspiration for developing the project work I did for Chicago. Does anyone here have experience with byproduct synergy/industrial symbiosis networks? My interest now is creating a project which combines by-product synergy concepts with ecosystem restoration. Love to know if anyone else is doing this type of work. Karen Wan about 1 month ago

| Hi Karen, nisp has been squished by the new government; I expect to hear even less from them. Others may have work more up your street but my efforts are to encourage C2C at whole economy level, http://bit.ly/3rdswitch James Greyson about 1 month ago
