About

I'm biking 300 miles from NYC to DC to promote cycling and to raise funds for climate action! http://www.billsride09.info/

Meet Daisy, our lovable little adoptee. She was adopted through a rescue program that finds homes for beagles used in laboratory testing. We try to care for her the best we can. She is one of the lucky ones that made it out alive and in good health..

I work for an environmental certification (eco-labelling) company called Scientific Certification Systems (SCS)  in Emeryville, CA - http://www.scscertified.com. Hopefully, I am helping to stop some of the greenwashing that is so prevalent today.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Engineer - my job entails evaluating the environmental impacts of products and services from cradle to grave using life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) methods.

In a past life, my professional experience was in product design and development, materials selection, manufacturing and web development. I am now using that experience to try to help us transition away from our current harmful industrial complex to a more holistic and sensible way of living and producing the things we need to order to thrive.

I have done academic research on the environmental impacts of industry, agriculture and institutions.

I am a volunteer leader in the Sierra Club, SF Bay Chapter, Northern Alameda County Group

My personal interests include hiking, camping, volleyball, sailing, skiing, photography, cooking, news junkie, life cycle assessment, sustainable living, eco-villages, sustainable farming/permaculture.

I was raised on a small family farm in North-central Illinois.

Spent a little time at a sustainable eco-village in Rutledge, MO called Dancing Rabbit - http://www.dancingrabbit.org/

I would like to meet people that are interested in forming an intentional sustainable community.
