There are a finite number of elements on the periodic table.
The law of energy, and the law of mass provide the basic architecture.
Of these elemental constructs there are only five things that all living things are concerned with.
1) The body, the house, the planet. 2) water 3) food 4) living energy 5) occupation; our place in the ecology.

Remember we deal with energy, Oil, Coal and Nuclear. Inexpensive and heavily subsidized. Their tactics are cunning, baffling and powerful. They will go to any length to stay in business. Without us they cannot survive. We must not give in. Remember there is one thing, that has all power. That thing is Sun, may we find it now.
As we try to hold on to our old forms of energy the results will be nil until we let go absolutely. Half measures avail us nothing. We stand at the turning point. We asked for protection and care from those who would hurt us and our planet with complete abandon.
Here are steps to take, which are suggested as a program of recovery:
1) We have to admit we are powerless over our energy usage and we are addicted to harmful oil, coal and nuclear power.
2) Came to believe that the Sun could restore us to a natural balance on this planet.
3) Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to our intellect used for the greatest good. We ask only for the will, and the power to carry out what is best for all life.
4) Made a searching and fearless energy inventory of our oil, coal and nuclear consumption and other intensive waste producing industries and technologies.
5) We admitted to all humans and other living things the exact nature of our wrongs
6) Were entirely ready to let the Sun, the Wind, the Water, Provide all needed clean energy.
7) Humbly asked a higher power to remove all of our energy, social and economic shortcomings.
8)Made a list of all persons and living things we had harmed or destroyed and became willing to make amends to them all.
9) Did whatever possible to do so accept when to do so would create more harm or even make things worse.
10) Continued to take inventory of our energy, social and economic practices and when found wrong we promptly stop the practice and change the approach.
11) Sought through prayer, meditation, constant open discussion and public debate, to improve our ability to reduce our need for carbon based waste intensive business systems.
12) As a result of these steps and having gotten completely honest about our energy production and usage. We understood our ability to destroy our eco system. And tried to stay focused on the first 11 steps.
After reading these step many of you might say, “What an order! We can’t go though with it.” Don’t’ be discouraged or afraid. The point is we have to be willing to grow along spiritual lines. The principles found in these steps are guides to progress. We hope for progress, which may lead to eventual perfection.
Remember we deal with available, inexpensive and heavily subsidized energy. Their tactics are cunning, baffling and powerful. They will not give up easily. Without help they are too much for us. But there is one that has all power that one is the Sun, may we find it now.

What you quoted drom CIE appears to be very consistent with what I am proposing with my Peoples' Equity Union (PEU) work. ith respect to your question about the "nature of wealth", I think that the "quality of life" paradigm in lieu of the "standard of living" paradigm needs to be stressed.
"Quality of life" includes personal happiness for self, neighbors, and all others. It includes ownership opportunities for all and everybuddy having the things they need, including health, healthy and loving relations with family, friends, neighbors, and all the people of the world. It includes peace on earth, and it includes a future for all the children of the world.
"Standard of living" implies maximizing the consumption of things.
You asked how do we attract people?
I work by walking around my neighborhood, downtown, and beyond and talking to people about matters of concern and interest to them and how what we are trying to do relates, then giving them contact information, including my web log. I also, as you know, try to maximize outreach on the inter-net.
From a structural point of view, I am considering forming a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, (the PEU), to start receiving funds for neighborhood equity unions (NEUs). One of my plans is to work with local and hopefully national and world musicians, for them to form a not-for-profit corporation to present revenue producing musical productions that will optimize meeting the needs of talented local musicians/lyricists and any of the great old and not-so-old national and world musicians who may have fallen upon hard times. Negotiated amounts of the profits will be donated to the NEUs. Of course, donations will also be accepted by the NEUs. Money dedicated or donated to the NEUs will be held in trust in local credit unions.
The NEUs will work together in a common mission based on shared principles and strategies. Once a NEU has enough funds to begin work, they will become not-for-profit community worker hybrid cooperatives.
On the regional and global scale, I envision transitioning all current Capitalist financial systems to a World-wide Peoples' Equity Union (WPEU), which would have regional and neighborhood Planning Boards with mission and strategies consistent with what I have laid out heretofore.
With regards to settlements on the desert, if there are alrady people in need of improved living conditions living inthe area, then current environments need to be improved. But, no more sprawl... No more developments on "greenfields" anywhere including what would be considered "greenfield" if they weren't in the desert (let's call them light brown and various other hues fields). Again, water must seriously be considered as a limiting factor in development activities. |

It's a little early in the plan, for me, to start discussing specific building techniques. What is appropriate for Simi Valley may not be appropriate for Eugene.
I would consider working with you, if you understand and accept the basic tenets of the Peoples' Equity Union Plan (i.e. the mission, basic principles, strategies, etc.).
I suggest that you follow our activity (just beginning) on the Peoples" Equity Union web log www.peoplesequityunion.blogspot.com and work with others in your community to organize in the manner that we are trying to organize in Eugene and Denver.
Thanks for writing. Best wishes in meeting your immediate needs. What we are doing is more of a long-term project. Quite frankly, at this time it is a dream.
