About
I graduated from UNC in 2006 where I studied philosophy, Chinese and Chinese politics, environmental ethics, decision theory, art, and economics. Since then I have studied business and am now teaching in and exploring northern China.
My fucus for a great while has centered on meta-ethical considerations in business, marketing, education and life. I would like to find new ways to work toward appropriate application of technology to systemic social and environmental problems as well as the means by which problems are identified.
I am from Raleigh and hope to move back there eventually or to wherever my projects take me. In my spare time I horse around with my friends, fiddle with my computer, bicycle, paint and work in the garden when I can. I play pool and darts, Rock Band and I like to ski. I am fond of Chinese brush painting, microbrews, thrift shops and yard sales, public policy consiserations and local music.
I plan on entering law school in 2010 to study environmental law and policy, information technology applications in law, tax policy or civil rights law. I have maintained an interest in education and education policy but have not yet found a path to become involved.
I believe that the key to approaching a sustainable world community is to rearrange power structures to reflect a sustainability based meritocracy, where power is assigned to those who are able to demonstrate that their social and ecological footprints do not exceed the carrying capacity of society and the environment in which they live.
Let's figure out how to measure sustainability.

You see the trick is to keep people at home as much as possible.
Give them everything they need and want so that they can stay with in walking distance of where they live.
This is the quickest way to reduce green house gas.
We need to design an entire new system of transportation. And as form follows function the new Trans system should look radically different then what we have become accustomed to.
Simply a new model of an old contention.
Reinvent the local village.
It’s more about simple organization.
We’ve got to break out of the winner take all ultimate fighting mentality.
Imagine the outcome if we all got to know and appreciate ourselves for being different. And the same.
