About
We Conserve is a united, multi-sector movement in support of the
transition to a sustainable, conserver society. It matches
individual commitment ("I conserve") with the products and services
available from businesses, organizations and government. We
recognize that the overwhelming majority of people are concerned about
the future of our planet and are willing to take action.
"I conserve" is the easiest way for people to express their commitment, whether it be to reduce energy, drive less, eat local, or buy green products. "We Conserve" is a way to unite and promote the many local and regional programs and services that are designed to help people become better conservers.
We Conserve is one part "movement-based social marketing" (which can be easily replicated), one part voluntary commitments (a public statement of commitment from participating groups, businesses and governments) and one part movement-building and collaboration (buildeing the social infrastructure to support the transition to a conserver society).
We Conserve is based in Ontario, Canada, where the Conservation Council of Ontario is actively leading the development of a province-wide conservation movement. Please contact us for information on replicating this initiative in other jurisdictions.
