About
I have been a software
consultant for about twenty years, working as a developer, mentor,
teacher and project manager. I have worked with java, NET, SQL and all that. For ten years I had my own consulting company.
During the last years I have had a growing desire to work with sustainability projects. I have slowly been moving away from software and technology and into social entrepreneurship and dialogue.
I am consuming books and resources about environment, ecology, natural capitalism, ecodesign, management, leadership and systems thinking. Something great is emerging and I want to be a part of it. Right now I am reading The U Theory by Otto Scharmer and The Tao of Democracy by Tom Atlee.
The book "Blessed Unrest" and Wiserearth are really wonderful initiatives. Lets use the cutting edge social tools to create and sustain a community that alters the course of the world.
I live the very north of Sweden with my family; wife, four children and a dog. In my spare time I enjoy playing bass in my cover band around town. You can find my blog at http://www.vesterberg.se

Hi Anders!
Thanks for the note. Reading your profile and the writings in your blog, I too believe we share a lot in common.
The latest piece you wrote about being aware and present is something I'm struggling with at the moment. It's a coincidence that this morning, the local TV has just aired a rerun of one Oprah Show episode featuring Eckhard Tole's A New Earth, which is about being in the now. Definitely something we all need to "work" on.
My side of the world has gotten quite hot this week that one can not bear the noon air without at least a fan blowing some cooler breeze. Hope we can stop the increasing carbon in the air...
Anyway, very good to have another passionate and concerned citizen of the world here in WiserEarth. Haven't heard of plans to let the community get involved with coding directly WiserEarth's software (though the source code has been released for public use and development), but if there will ever be one, I'll be sure to inform you on that.
Hope your stay here will be fruitful Anders. Looking forward for more conversation and collaboration.

Hi Anders,
Glad to hear from you after a while. I've heard of World Cafe several times but have not had any experience involved in any such conversation. Is there an online video you can point me to that illustrate such conversation?
Yes, democracy should first and foremost be about self-governance, not governance-by-others. And that entails civic participation and involvement. I sure wish that there are ongoing conversation on this in WiserEarth but I haven't seen one yet. Perhaps you can link up with Ted (teddidread), who's working on a documentary about sociocracy, and also with John (jspady) who works with citizen councilor forums in his county, to then set up a group around 'participatory democracy'? I'd love to jump in.
