About
Hi, my name is Thomas Sheffer and I am a first year graduate student in the Urban and Regional Planning program at Virginia Tech. My focus area in my studies is on environmental planning and land use with my current research work concentrating on Conservation Learning Networks and providing resources for emerging LN's and other Communities of Practice.
My BS was also from VT in Natural Resource Conservation, which I completed in 2005. In the three years in between I moved to Australia to live with my wife Mandy and to begin to explore the incredible continent. In that time I worked primarily for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service as an education ranger. I am glad to be back in the States and very excited to be part of VT's planning program!
