Tonya Surman has been working with
social mission groups to collaborate, innovate and overcome barriers to success
for over 15 years. Tonya is a co-founder and Executive Director of the Centre
for Social Innovation (2004), and has been a key visionary and force behind
CSI’s success. She has been the founding Partnership Director for the Canadian
Partnership for Children's Health and Environment (2000), a senior partner in
the Commons Group, the founding business manager for rabble.ca and was
executive director of Web Networks, the first ISP in Canada dedicated to the social
sector. Tonya has been creating and leading social enterprises for over 10
years and has built her body of knowledge around multi-sectoral collaboration
and entrepreneurship for social change.
