About

Our Mission

The Teleosis Institute is devoted to developing effective, sustainable health care provided by professionals who serve as environmental stewards. The Institute has three major goals:

  • To educate health professionals about the principles and practices of
    Ecologically Sustainable Medicine
  • To build a community-based network for professionals providing
    Green Health Care
  • To provide access to high quality, cost-effective, sustainable medical services benefiting underserved populations and the environment in which we live

A not-for-profit organization, the Teleosis Institute was founded by Dr. Joel Kreisberg, DC, MA, a health care practitioner and environmental educator.

Teleosis is derived from the Greek and can be translated as "greater self-realization."

Our Programs

The Teleosis Institute provides educational programs, tools and resources to help health practitioners integrate environmentally sound strategies into their practice and create a new model of care called Green Health Care.

Teleosis serves health care professionals through the following interlinked areas:

  • The Green Health Care Program coaches health professionals to Green the Workplace, Become Environmental Health Advocates, and Provide Sustainable Medical Care.
  • The Green Pharmacy Program provides consumers and health professionals with an environmentally positive alternative for disposing unwanted medicines.
  • Symbiosis Journal explores ecological principles of healing and medicine. Other educational materials include, Environmental Health Brochures, Green Health Care Newsletter, lectures, and online resources.
  • The Green Health Care Network a grassroots network of visionary health care professionals who are leading the Green Health Care movement.
