I am currently working for The Banyan, an NGO that rescues and rehabilitates mentally ill homeless women from the streets of Chennai, India. In a country where mental illness is a taboo and psychiatric care is not readily available, The Banyan is an invaluable organisation that has cared, supported and rehabilitated thousands of women.

Hi! I had recently visited the Banyan (the Kilpauk and Adaikalam offices).It was a brave initiative and the amount of passion and grit with which the employees there work is commendable indeed.Just wanted to enquire whether one needs to have a degree in social work to join your organisation.Am an engineer by profession who wants to enter the field of social service.Any advice would be appreciated. :-).
