About
The Association for the Advancement of New
Development Alternatives (APRONAD), was created by a group of Panamanians, with
the support of consultants and international entities, November 9, 1998. It is
registered as a non-profit association, with legal personality. 10.755.
APRONAD emerged with the aim of contributing to national development in three main areas: the protection and preservation of the environment, the fight against rural and urban poverty and the promotion of a democratic culture, based on the strengthening and participation of community organizations, and a new leadership. To this end were identified 4 specific programs, which are developed comprehensive strategies: tourism with community participation and the promotion of microenterprise tourism, the sustainable management of solid waste, sustainable rural development and leadership training children and adolescents.
