I am an environmentally active anthropologist.  My focus has been on garbage/consumption, and gift economies that arise in urban environments due to radical reuse habits (ie dumpster-diving).  My current work with Story of Stuff involves networking with different non-profits and community members in order to mobilize a movement that spans all walks of life.   We are working very hard to find a way to connect all the people who want to get involved and spread the important message of American over-consumption, and what it is doing to our earth and all the people, plants, and animals on it.
