About

So, not quite sure, what the "Area of Focus" is all about so I just clicked many "areas" that interest me. By no means is that list complete, I could've easily clicked on all of the topics, but, feeling like a kid in a candy store, I exercised a bit of restraint.

For the past decade I've worked in industries that provided me very little opportunity to give back to the world. In fact, I often felt like I was unnecessarily contributing to the injustices and destructive practices of global capitalism. So, a year ago I decided to go back to school and pursue a different path. My B.A. is Art Practice and most of my work experience has been in residential architecture (the high-end, wasteful, rich people kind) so my options were limited if I didn't throw a little more school into the mix of my resume. After a year or so of post-baccalaureate work, mostly in human geography, I will begin my Master's (Geography) in the Fall. Why all of this detailed information? Well, I guess it kinda offers an image of where I am at the moment.

All of the topics I included as my area of foci represent something I'm moving towards to consciously reorganize my life. The majority of my experience with the issues I listed have been in the classroom and I'm anxious to take it all a step further and turn my interests into action. I guess that's why I'm here, on this site.
