About
Social Venture Partners Seattleis a network of accomplished individuals who combine financial contributions and professional skills with a passion for philanthropy. Leveraging our collective expertise and resources, we partner with and strengthen promising nonprofits for maximum community impact.
As Program Director, Partner Development, my role is helping partners understand and take advantage of the resources, learning opportunities, and experiential programs at SVP that are the best match given their priorities, interest areas, and time availability. I oversee our curriculum of workshops & seminars, match partners with volunteer consulting projects or other experiential learning opportunities, meet with partners 1/1 to help them advance their philanthropic goals, facilitate peer groups of partners around shared philanthropic interests.
In addition to working at SVP, I am an adjunct law professor at Seattle University Law School, where I co-instruct a clinical course offered to law students and graduate business students called "Community Development and Entrepreneurship."
My brief history prior to coming to SVP: After law school, I spent six years as a corporate attorney in Seattle, mainly representing start-up technology companies. I had a different passion though, I wanted to apply my skills to make a social impact, so I moved to South America to consult with a social enterprise catalyst (www.nesst.org). After returning to Seattle, worked as the loan manager of a microlender (www.washingtoncash.org).
My volunteer activities include:
- Leadership Tomorrow Class of 2008
- Candidate Investigator, Municipal League of King County
- Volunteer, The Vera Project
- Mentor, Seattle University Law School
- Wales Foundation Passionate Citizenship Award Selection Committee
- Pro bono attorney NW Women's Law Center
