About
I taught for 15 years in the SFUSD, where I created and ran outdoor and experiential education programs that helped young people stay in school, or at least figure out how to gracefully take the next step beyond high school. I left the district to become part of the Stewardship Council. I overseee the Youth Investment Program (YIP), whose goal is to connect underserved youth to the outdoors.

First, I review the five elements. I use it like a mantra.
Housing
Water
Food
Energy
Occupation
It is very likely that the root cause of the problem is based in one or more of these five things.
