About
I work here: www.yourfarmersmarket.com and I'm interested in sustainable farming, eating, and living. I want to get involved in new community projects, particularly food security projects. I write grants, raise funds, and love to eat figs this time of year.
Currently, I am working on a project that brings healthy cooking demonstrations and classes to WIC and Food Stamp offices. We are funded by the Network for a Healthy California and Kaiser Permanente.
I am also the Executive Director of Fresh Approach, a new educational organization focusing on nutrition education, sustainable agriculture, and a strong local food system. We run community events such as film screenings, farm tours, and cooking demonstration; we also operate a community garden in Oakland that teaches organic gardening to developmentally disabled adults.
