Earth Charter

Connecting now in my small community, my sense of Gaia and what is happening to homeless people now. Here in Seattle, Nickelsvillel has been a demonstration of how people can start to live together and they have been building on the dream of living on land, and building a 'shanty town'. 

I am making the commitiment to see them become an eco-village. Many people in that encampment are for that, yet many do not see the deep relevence to themselves of being 'Green', or sustainable.

i will be spending time with Starhawk and her work to get into the grove of developing the people part of Permaculture, and with the activism to keep people's hearts aflame.

They have been together as a group for some time now and even have a community fire that is being kept alive.

I find hope here and intellegence. I will only be adding on to what is already a Green entity, without the recognition of it being so. I will be giving workshops on the principles to the general public and Nickelsville people so that they can work together and diminish that cliff like divide that seems to exist in a frigtening form to those who would like to help but are afraid to look down.

Vandana Shiva is who said, it was the degradation of the Earth, that leads to the disposing of human lives. To me, the Earth and humans are linked in important ways, if we take care of one of these, the other is also cared for. I find it elegant to look to helping both at once, to show this truth more clearly here in Seattle.

I will be posting updates, starting in Feb. on how this all starts to shape up.
