I am a fisheries scientis with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, with expertise in marine conservation biology and invertebrates. I have championed the Mount Arowsmith Biosphere Reserve, which was designated by UNESCO in 2000 and recognises the efforts of local communities to balance conservation and sustainable economic activities so as to try and maintain those local features of the environment that give qualty to our lives.
