I was deeply impressed by the need for economic change in David Korten's message to the planet in his visionary book, The Great Turning. I used to teach economics, have worked as an economic analyst, but became disillusioned with the lack of relevance. Now, with the urgent message of The Great Turning, I am determined to bring that story to the economics profession, at whatever level I can. Even though I no longer teach economics (I work as a computer programmer and web developer), I believe changing how economics is taught in the classroom and discussed in the media must become part of the great change we are all seeking.

I will be starting up a study group in the Boulder, Colorado area focussed on The Great Turning, building it around a website that I will maintain to support it. If anyone is doing similar work elsewhere, or if you're a local resident, please get in touch.
