Specialist in the management of communities of practice and consulting services within the areas of sustainable development, fair trade and solidarity economy. I keep a blog, mainly in French and sometimes in English at http://quetzal.over-blog.org/
I worked 12 years of experience in international cooperation project management in developing countries (Latin America and South-East Asia) and France, on issues related to local development, solidarity economy (cooperatives) and management of natural resources.
After having contributed during three years to the development of cooperatives in Mexico (1996-1999), I came back to France to coordinate a workshop (or community of practice) on fair trade, within the Workgroup on a Solidarity Socio-Economy. The reference book I wrote for this group has been translated and edited in five languages besides French (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Chinese). I thus contributed to the emergence of an international dialogue on the challenges of fair trade, and to cross its initiatives with other challenges, such us food sovereignty (during the World Forum on this theme in 2001), organic agriculture (with the Biocoop shops, at the 2003 World Social Forum) and sustainable development. I also coordinated the writing of a strategic agenda for a responsible, sustainable and united economy.
This international experience led me to the facilitate dialogue on the challenges of globalization with Bridge Initiative. Having led many collaborative NTIC projects, I recently coordinated the launching of the sustainable development encyclopedia, a start up online project. I combine this activity with consultancies and training on fair trade, social economy and sustainable development.
Completely trilingual (French, English, Spanish, as well as Portuguese), I think a particularly relevant aspect of sustainable development is the cultural change that are necessary to bring about a world that is more respectful of nature and human beings.
I am currently avaible to bring this experience to the service of sustainable and fair development initiatives that are innovative and promising.
