About
Following a lifelong passion for nature education, Pat Harrison joined the staff of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas in 1995 to develop an education outreach program for the newly established institute. After two years as Education Coordinator, she was named Head of Education to oversee all education and outreach efforts and later promoted to Assistant Director, Head of Education. Pat's efforts are focused on educating the public about the importance of biodiversity and the role of plants in the health and well being of all living things. She leads a talented education team to deliver dynamic and diverse programming for students, teachers, and life-long learners, both locally and nationally. As Assistant Director, she assists with major projects to support the institution and is actively engaged in the planning and fundraising for a new sustainably designed home for the Institute.
