Hello, I am Jen – a freelance communication designer. I love being outdoors with friends, hiking, biking, snowboarding and snowshoeing. I also appreciate a well-placed em-dash, pencil drawings and a good story.

 

My love of fresh air extends into the master’s degree I recently completed in strategic leadership towards sustainability (MSLS) in Sweden.

 

Before coming to Sweden I had a lively contract with the City of Vancouver Sustainability Group where I got to practice telling sustainability stories online, in print and in person. I worked on a community-based social marketing campaign helping residents reduce energy use one day at a time. I also supported city planners by helping to communicate their vision for building neighbourhoods that are green, livable and affordable.

 

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design which combined with MSLS degree has led me to focus on sustainability as cultural narrative. I’ve co-founded a writing club called The Dime with two friends – it is only advertised through word of mouth, so give me a ring if you want to come.
