A symbol of hope and change, glistening with wind turbines, solar panels, and green foliage from the street all the way to the top of the tower 40 stories above. Close your eyes and envision a warm spring day, feeling the warm rays of the morning sun out on the roof gardens  four hundred feet abov ...learn more

About

I was originally born in Mexico City and emigrated to Canada at a young age. My educational background has focused mainly on economics and development, with a focus on agriculture and food security, as well as on human and indigenous right issues.

I have been a social activist for a number of years and began to work in the field of Development and Conservation soon after concluding my studies at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. To say the least, this work has been humbling, opening my perspective about the complexity that envelops the interactions between people and their environment, including their sociocultural and economic context. My work with the people of Southern Mexico and the Peruvian Amazon have allowed me to discover a love and deep respect for the living and non-living that make up our planet.

In September of this year I will commence a M.Sc in Environmental Science with a focus on Ecological Economics at the Universitàt Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB). The program will allow me to develop a capacity for Life Cycle Analysis as well as a deeper understanding of the issues that surround the field of Industrial Ecology. Analysis of environmental policy from an evolutionary perspective is where I hope to focus my thesis work.

In joining this community, my intention is to share with you all insights that experience and research will bring. And with the hope to better connect in order for us to become more effective at what we do!

Salut!
