About

Organic Arts Ltd.

A Collaboration of
Artists in Education

Locally grown arts experiences
by free range artists
with no commercial additives

Organic Arts Ltd. is a down-to-earth collaboration of fine artists and educators using the arts to teach kids about music, storytelling, history, social justice, the environment and genuine grassroots art. Organic Arts serves as a clearinghouse that connects educational projects by artists with educators, donors, and community service providers to serve communities with professional arts experiences. The Organic Arts umbrella also serves as fiscal receiver for unique and important projects proposed by professional artists with a lifetime commitment of service to the community.

Our school and in-service programs are created with state standards and curriculum guidelines in mind.

Our projects address many different art forms and needs, including:

Heartland Heritage Music Project: Lead artist David HB Drake
Traditional music of the Midwest and Great Lakes, State History, and American Folk Music for all ages performed on guitar and hand made banjo, dulcimer, concertina, and Native American Flute
www.davidhbdrake.com

Storylore Project: Lead artist Jean-Andrew Dickmann
Stories from around the world for all ages bringing insight into time-honored wisdom. The joy we remember as children being told a story face to face is revisited. Stories come to life through this oldest form of oral teaching, the art of the storyteller.
www.storylore.net

Amazing Science Project: lead artist Dr. Sky Schultz, Ph.D.
Science, magic, and “genius” lessons from Professor Oops, who uses humor, magic, and science to show us the wonders all around us and within us.
www.professoroops.com

Dangerous Folk Project: lead artist Eldon “Cap” Lee
The time has come again for the folk music of change and those fine old folk music anthems that taught us that “We shall overcome” and to “Make Love, not War”.
www.dangerousfolk.com

Wildflower Project: lead artist Kristia Wildflower
Stories and costumed theatrical characters that teach about plant lore, the environment, and Mother Nature.  Folks can talk face-to-face with Mother Nature herself as one of Wildflower's characters!
www.aboutwildflower.com

Artreach Project: Lead artist Eldon “Cap” Lee
Programs for Alternative Education, “Differently Abled”/AODA, and Elders-
school workshops using folk music and stories teaching basic human values, peacemaking, and a love for the earth and each other. Consulting on alternative educational systems and teacher in-services.

Earth-Keepers Project: lead artist Fintan Dooley
Sculpture, cross-cultural and early American history stories. Fin has been a guide, a historian, and advocate who tells the stories through sculpture and lore of lost cultures and our Native and pioneer heritage

Most lead artists are available for concert, festival, school assembly and workshop, library, and elders programs.

Earth, Teach Me

Earth teach me quiet ~ as the grasses are still with new light.
Earth teach me suffering ~ as old stones suffer with memory.
Earth teach me humility ~ as blossoms are humble with beginning.
Earth teach me caring ~ as mothers nurture their young.
Earth teach me courage ~ as the tree that stands alone.
Earth teach me limitation ~ as the ant that crawls on the ground.
Earth teach me freedom ~ as the eagle that soars in the sky.
Earth teach me acceptance ~ as the leaves that die each fall.
Earth teach me renewal ~ as the seed that rises in the spring.
Earth teach me to forget myself ~ as melted snow forgets its life.
Earth teach me to remember kindness ~ as dry fields weep with rain.

An Ute Prayer
