About

I am the technical director and original developer of the WiserEarth project. These days I am thinking about social networks, visualization, community processes, and usability. If you would like to get in touch with me to discuss these subjects or just to say hi, you can use internal messaging, email, or IM.

Oz, I have admired your work and wiserarth for years!!!

I would like to talk with you with you if you are at all avaiable to this to think about

- how might a community replicate wisearth-- e.g. wiser Bainbridge- wiser Whidby

I'm struggling with a questions that seems enormous to me that you have obviously conquered-- how does technology help us build the network- keep the local but have the global network

for example:

- I direct a local economic development council- and I want to build industry based clusters/ where folks can share information and clearly blogs/ web sites aren't going to reflect the compexity of their communication needs

- I direct a regional food system through a  University Extension program and we are struggling with how we label and brand local food but still connect with the regional market ----

All these years I've thought Jon Ramer was the person that I need to connect with- but I'm beginning to think it might be you. . let me know. thanks!! kbaril@wsu.edu. . . 360-774-0741

Anders,

There are a lot to discuss around the topic obviously.
You should check out some of the WiserEarth group around technical development and social change, there are some interesting conversations, and initiatives

Hi
I recently read "Blessed Unrest" and found wiserearth. Fantastic! I have been thinking along the path of software, social networks and enviroment the last years and here it was. I look forward to add to this and discuss things, specially related how software and technology can serve the environmentalism movement.

Hey Camilla,
Doing great. Thanks for leaving a note here.
The team is putting a discussion page on each area of focus. For now the discussions are going to be on wikipages- a common use of wikipages in wiki websites like wikipedia. To find out more send a message to molly at http://www.wiserearth.org/user/molly/

Hi Oz,
How are you? I came across your work for Wiserearth through a netsquared social gathering. Great work! Doyou believe there will be some sort of thread or forum that could be added to the "area of focus" and "profile" pages? That way people can start discussion on projects and ideas.
