About
The North Shore Land Alliance (NSLA) was formed in 2003 to respond to the rapid loss of open space in northern Nassau County, particularly in State-designated Special Groundwater Protection Areas. While recognizing that a healthy community must continue to grow its economy, NSLA believes that, with careful planning, open space protection will enhance both quality of life and the local economy. Our mission is to protect and preserve, in perpetuity, the green spaces, farmlands, wetlands, groundwater and historical sites of Nassau County for the enjoyment and benefit of future generations and the protection and enhancement of quality of life.
