About
I am a second-year Master's student in Resource Management & Conservation at Antioch University, with a focus on resource-conservation-based Development Planning. I have a Bachelor's of Science (BSc.) Degree in Environment & Natural Resource Management from the College of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV), a branch of the State University of Haiti. My professional activities and my professional field have always offered me opportunities to work with and among communities facing all kinds of environmental and socio-economic challenges. Considering those challenges, I always ask myself about how I can be part of an integrated process that would trigger and advocate for changes in the patterns of natural resource depletion and community under-development in my country generally, and the community where I am from, specifically. Getting to know about wiserearth through my instructor (Steven Chase, PhD) of the course course "Organizing Social Movements & Campaigns", I consider that an opportunity to learn more about how to advocate and connect myself with other people, groups, or organizations that have experiences similar issues in their respective locations or areas of actions.
In fact, I am very interested in sustainable community development and natural resource stewardship. That is part of my professional focus and my career commitment. In order to start taking proactive actions, some environmetally-concerned colleagues and I founded an organization that is working in the areas of locally-focused natural resource conservation, community socio-economic enhancement, and community empowerment. I am the General Coordinator of that organization and the President of the Unit for Local Natural Resource Management, and Internal Advisor for the Community Risk Assessment, Prevention and Mitigation program. Further information about the organization can be obtained in the following link supported by wisereath. http://www.wiserearth.org/group/gradefpinfo/section/details
