WiserEarth Area of Focus Stewards

My name is Michael Duhaney, I was born in Jamaican and now living in Canada. I am presently  working to bring a leadership development movement for youth in  the Caribbean starting with Jamaica.

I believe that there is a leader in each of us and we have a responsibility to show up as the leaders we truly are. The way of change is first, loving who we are, secondly investigate what matters to us and then living and doing that.

My focus is to develop and deliver a youth leadership program that influences change in the society and the lives of the brilliant young leaders. The  program will focuses on awakening the leader within through a powerful, 5 day, rigorous experiential process. The program will entail skill building, fierce conversations, creating from self and others and learning a model for effective leadership,

The  program will be of the youth and for the youth to create a sustainable youth leadership movement and a model that reaches out to the rest of the Caribbean.

This is about changing lives, creating learning and providing opportunities for those who are willing to take a leadership stand. This is not only an opportunity for us, but, I assert, a calling to create the changes we want to see in the world.   Mahatma Gandhi said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”  

This is an exciting opportunity and a significant one that we can all be a part of and I look forward to the collaboration, support and funding need to making a difference! Help!
