About

I am a graduate student at the Monterey Institute of International Studies where I am earning my MBA as well as an MA in International Environmental Policy.  My focus of study is sustainable construction within the United States and China.  I plan to facilitate the exchange of green building best practices between these two countries.

For the past decade, I have worked as a business strategy consultant and Internet commerce marketing manager where I engaged in strategy development, process analysis, and requirements gathering.  I have over five years of management-level experience leading and project managing multicultural teams of up to 25 members and project budgets of over $5 million.  After launching my career in San Francisco, I lived in Asia for eight years, managing projects in Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangkok, and Tokyo.  I am fluent in Japanese and Chinese.

I currently have a few projects going:
- www.greendragonfilm.com - this is a multi-media website and documentary film on the barriers to and opportunities for expanding the Chinese green building industry.
- www.adrachina.org - I am working with the group to implement a second straw building project in northeast China.  We are currently trying to raise $78,000 to purchase straw baler equipment, train 200 local builders, and build 250 straw bale homes.  From this, we've calculated a CO2 reduction of at least 80,000 tons....that's $1/ton of CO2 reduction!
