About
Mary Ford is the National Audubon Society Manager of Education and Centers, based in Washington,
DC. Previously, Mary has been the Senior Manager at the
National Office of Project WILD, the Manager of
Education and Outreach at World Wildlife Fund, and Program
Leader for Education at the Institute of Ecosystem Studies. Mary has also worked
at nature centers, taught in public schools and preschools, and conducted
research on orangutans in Borneo, rodents in Costa Rica, and national parks in Siberia. Mary is originally from Minnesota and loves snow, Swedish
cookies, and the Mississippi Flyway.
Mary’s major responsibilities include: managing the development and dissemination of new education program templates, toolkits and signature programs; sharing best practices in education throughout the Audubon network; assisting with the development of education and evaluation materials; helping to design training programs and professional development opportunities; and coordinating Audubon at Home efforts.
