About

I am constantly amazed by the beauty of our natural world and the complexity of connections generated by the systems of the earth.
I am inspired by
Permaculture, the study of creating sustainable human life on this planet.
Most of the time, I enjoy my perspective from the rainforests of Cascadia.
I have found myself fortunate to travel to Vietnam, Nicaragua, Belize, Mexico, Israel, and Canada to immerse myself in their respective indigenous beauty.
I teach many workshops on permaculture and related topics.  They are posted on my website:  www.herbnwisdom.com.
I am an avid seed-saver, and seed-distributer.
I am interested in wiser earth as a way to increase our effectiveness in working to create a world based on love, trust, compassion, and appreciation.

Hey Marisha,

I am thinking that you look verrry familiar to me. Did we not happen to meet on an island of two volcanoes in Nicaragua?  I could be totally mistaken, but I am thinking that we met at Finca Bona Fide , I think you were travelling with Melissa who is now at Laguna de Apoyo?  Well, if it is you, nice to "meet" you again on these here internet waves.  Hope that this message finds you well and smiling...

what is my purpose in life, what is my responsibility?
whether I like it or not, I am on this planet
and it is far better to do something for humanity.

so you see that compassion is the seed or basis.

If we take care to foster compassion,
we will see that it brings the other good human qualities.

       the topic of compassion is not at all religious business;
it is very important to know that it is human business
that it is a question of human survival
that is not a question of human luxury....

It is clear that even without religion we can manage.

However, without these basic human qualities we cannot survive.
It is a question of our own peace and mental stability.
