First - let me clarify my location. Iowa (US) is 'home' but I'm in Karlskrona, Sweden for a few years... 2006-20??.
I'll have to say, I'm curious about nearly all of the focus areas... so I opted to only choose a few that are most appealing so as not to be too overwhelmed. My real interest is in taking a look at the bigger picture of how all of these focus areas fit together -- it seems to me that is what is often lacking when we talk about creating a more just and sustainable society. A master's program ("Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability" -- www.bth.se/msls) in Sweden provided me an opportunity to start thinking about this... and continued research / work toward a PhD is providing the opportunity to continue thinking quite a bit about this.
More about my area(s) of research to come as I put words to them... for now, just now that I'm an American living in Sweden and I'm always happy to connect with people from either (or another!) place.

Is the course you are talking about the Natural Step masters? I worked with KHR briefly to bring that thinking into the company I worked for which has quietly happened, and am now on my own trying to work with smaller companies. Have thought on and off about applying to that programme. The stupidly compelling reason for not doing so so far is my inability to deal with no light - I used to spend a lot of time in Lund and couldn't bear the sun setting at 3...
