Dear Leland,
With best wishes to you! Yours Vlad. |

William,
You are not the only one that gets back to people late on thing’s it would seem. It sure was easier years ago to keep up with things. There was not so much hubbub a slower pace but now people are out there going nuts with Websites, E-Mails, Videos (I know the phone is still there but it seems less relevant somehow) and the like. What ever happened to getting together for a sit down dinner to discuss your dreams oh that’s right these days you need a Jet Airplane because people are now in ultra-mass communication around the world and then you have to write it in on the calendar to see if it would work. It is odd that even with our present communication capabilities we seem to going at things helter-skelter where we are not pointed so well at the unification of our species yet. Even here on Wiserearth they are struggling to reign in lose elements toward greater operational effectiveness and perspectives. Why this struggle exists is a curiosity to me at this point. I clearly recall back in the late sixties and early seventies by way of a few phone calls a letter or two, gatherings and marches could be formed and hundreds of people would show up with zeal under a common cause.
It seemed it was more of a human thing then, now we have superb technologies but I question the human factor and its connectivity at this point. But then again there were two million people there in Washington at President Obama’s Inauguration ceremony. Though if you compare pictures you would not see too much for difference between the numbers at Obama’s speech and that of Martin Luther King JR’s in the sixties so the question I have is our new found ultra-mass communication medium making much of a difference or not when it comes to the human factor. What do you think about this issue William? And, do you think we humans will ever reach a point to where our social capabilities become equal to our technological ones. Or do you think it's all in process right now.
I could be wrong here but one of my worries is that we as a whole are spending an inordinate amount of man hours with the shaping of and dealing with our computer technologies where our efforts are going more toward the harnessing of our information technology rather than the harnessing of us as a people and the overall technology that would support us looking at how the overall infrastructure and its development has been at a crawl the last couple of decades, we can sure do better. Years ago we certainly did not have the tools we do today and we did and built much. Nowadays we have tools that can be described as fantastic compared to the tools at hand years ago and we do and build little except houses of course those we can build at nauseous pace. What we need is to start an array of projects starting on the scale of The Millau Viaduct and working across our planet. If you were to go to www.thevenusproject.com you would see a pathway to effectively change the face of our world if and I say if we as a world were to put our minds and backs into it and many other types of projects as well like the proposed bridge across the Bering Straights proposed by Russia. Than with our tools we would do much.
Keep in mind that I could have done the same task here of writing you this letter years ago by accessing an orginizational address book and writing you in paper mail. This electronic medium does make the process easier but does it connect our soulful intent any better less than or more than it would have done so in the past do you think.
Anyway there are times that I feel as if the jury is still out on the above questions when I look and begin to wonder where our civilization is going or maybe not so going at this point. I think we need to start clearly defining our path ahead and that this act would help clear up the social and economic woes we are in across the world.
Well enough for now just stopping in and back at you,
Randy

These and many more projects are things that we as a civilization can put our soulful intent around thus beginning to find greater unity of cause across our race. |

oblio69 Thank You for the wonderful poem, it inspired me with a deeper insight as to purpose and objectivity in my own life. I guess this page is going to become my blog page at WiserEarth, because it is the only one I can receive outside correspondence on. Please share some more of your wisdom and insight with me here OK?
