I am an Associate Professor in Science Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. I am driven by issues possibly affecting the wellbeing of individuals, societies and environments that are related to practices and products of science and technology. I believe that many of these problems are tied to 'unbridled' capitalism and corporatism. Related to this, I am interested in investigating issues pertaining to business-science partnerships. A major example of this relates to intellectual transfer agreements and patenting legislation involving pharmaceutical companies and universities. My research, at the moment, is focused on a framework for curriculum and instruction for science and technology education. It is called 'STEPWISE,' which you can learn about at: http://www.stepwiser.ca
