About

I publish MendoCoastCurrent, tracking renewable energy projects around the world and especially wave energy development on the Mendocino coast where I live.

In 2004 I moved from Silicon Valley, a start-up tech veteran of more than 20 years, to Fort Bragg in California.  Five acres (from raw land) with a distant sea view called to me and I went for it. Shortly after I arrived, so did PG&E and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to announce their intention to explore wave energy off the north coast of California, right here.

My response was to begin publishing MendoCoastCurrent (http://MendoCoastCurrent.wordpress.com) in September 2007.   If you are interested in tracking Mendocino wave energy development and cool projects in renewable energy around the world, please check out: MendoCoastCurrent.  My perspective is independent (not corporate, not government) and environmental, yet based on a technology-positive foundation.  I am most interested in biomimicry and see it as our best tool in creating new renewable technology solutions

I have two solutions at WiserEarth and have also listed at MendoCoastCurrent:

1) SWEEP, a small wind environmental energy project, that's just getting started now on the Mendocino coast to explore small wind renewable energy in a rural landscape.  If you're interested in lending a hand or more, please read let us know by contacting me.  I'd love to hear from you.

2) Mendocino Energy, the other solution noted here, is a prototype renewable energy incubator/start-up campus to explore wind, wave, solar and much more at the now-defunct Mill Site on the Fort Bragg/Mendocino coast.  To learn more about this Renewable Energy Incubator on the West Coast - Mendocino Energy, go here: http://tiny.cc/uLRzd

If you are interested in either SWEEP or Mendocino Energy, please feel free to contact me here!

Cheer,

Laurel Krause
