I work across the fields of science, world religions, ethics, and literature.   PhD in evolution and ecology and 20 years associated with major institutions; also a professor of world religions and specialist in trans-traditional religion and spirituality.  Co-founder of a number of regional and international coalitions and networks and published widely at academic and popular level across these fields.  Work now particularly through NYCity based coalitions, networks and institutions, esp. NY's Coalition for OneVoice (www.coalitionforonevoice.org) and One Spirit Learning Alliance (www.onespiritinterfaith.org).  Co-founder with Catholic contemplative Br. Wayne Teasdale of InterSpiritual Dialogue in Action (www.isdna.org).  On Amer. Assoc. Adv. of Science's committee on Science, Ethics and Religion etc. etc. Working to link groups and networks.


More specifics:  Science first, then Religion

Science:  PhD evolution, ecology, comparative biology, systematics.  Specialist and widely published re: north American and South American (high Andean, Patagonian) grasslands, and rain forest areas of Latin America and the Antilles.  Over 200 refereed scientific articles and 6 monographs; have consulted for World Wildlife Fund, Nature Conservancy, and US, NY and FL Dept. of Endangered Species.  Sit on panel of AAAS Dialogue of Science Ethics and Religion, co-founder of Monarch Watch in Central Park (with MasterVision), and co-author of "Top Ten" (in four venues) Popular Science book (1999-2000) Nabokov's Blues: The Scientific Odyssey of a Literary Genius.  Work has been featured in NY Times Science Times, Natural History, Nature and Science.  Laboratory specialty group is butterflies.

Religion:  Christian religious life for dozen years, active and contemplative; then big move to eastern religions after 2000.  Recognized teacher (satsang) in Hindu tradition of Advaita Vedanta.  Teach World Religions and Integral Spirituality at NY Interfaith Seminary, OneSpirit Learning Alliance.  Cooperate with Deepak Chopra's Global Networking Leaders Group and Ken Wilber's east coast Integral Alliance.  Founded InterSpiritual Dialogue in Action with Br. Wayne Teasdale and others (www.isdna.org) and writing currently on synthesis of visions of Teasdale, Wilber and other integral visionaries.  Article forthcoming in spring 2008 Vision in Action etc.   Co-founder of New York Coalition for One Voice and founding member of World Wisdom Alliance.

Ethics:  Executive Committee, National Service Conference of the American Ethical Union (UN NGO); and member of faculty, Humanist Institute. 

Literature:  have written and spoken widely on the scientific legacy of famed Russian/American novelist Vladmir Nabokov who worked for a time at my major institution of past: American Museum of Natural History, NYC.
