About
Kristina Severance is the owner of Severance Photography, a stock photography agency that focuses on the lives of people living in remote areas or in indigenous cultural areas. Her work has taken her to Honduras, Peru, Costa Rica, Nepal, Bali, Brazil, Patagonia, and West Africa.
As a past member of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marin and Napa, and Kids with Cameras, Kristina enjoys making a difference in the lives of disenfranchised children through the art of photography. Featured as a guest lecturer for the San Francisco Academy of Art, Kristina continues to participate as photographer, art donor, and educator.
Her current project involves the small village of Sirigu in Ghana, West Africa. The beginning of the project is an interesting true story viewable here:

I use the WholEarth system to quickly indentify the problems facing any environmental situation where humans are involved.
First, I review the five elements. I use it like a mantra. Housing Water Food Energy Occupation It is very likely that the root cause of the problem is based in one or more of these five things. Your thoughts please. |

I read about the "dream" you had. What a strangely wonderful story. Reminded me of a tribe who considers the dream world to be the real world. They had this habit of waking up in the morning and talk about each other's dream. One of them, who never went to any educational institution, had a dream about the Great Conveyor Belt that is running through the world's ocean. I read about this in "The Origional Wisdom: Stories of an Ancient Way of Knowing" by Robert Wolff. Those people said of the modern people that we are, about the need to "remember" what we have forgotten. Day by day, I found that WiserEarth is full of people who have remembered. It was nice to know you and your story. I hope to connect more with you in the future. |
