I am someone who has recently returned after 31 years in Europe, principally Switzerland (I speak and write French fluently) and England. I have long been involved in sustainability efforts, first in Switzerland where I was a professor at the Swiss campus of Pasadena’s prestigious Art Center College of Design for 6 years teaching “Futurology for the design of sustainable structures and infrastructure”. I was also very much involved in associations such as the Association for the Development of Renewable Energies in Switzerland and One World Café in the center of London where we held seminars that promoted sustainability efforts and technologies.

Most recently, I helped Green Motorsports in the establishment of a very fast electric go kart series whose batteries are recharged by renewable technologies, which precedes the FIFA’s establishment of hybrid technologies which will put an end to internal combustion engines at the highest level in global car racing. Their program is designed to introduce electric vehicle and sustainable recharging technologies to adolescents in the UK.

I am also very active in the design of the next generation of 100% sustainable cities, which is what brought me to the Bay Area with an invitation to present my projects at the recent Ecocities Global Summit in San Francisco. We will not reach a 100% sustainable world in time before the END OF OIL and in time to reverse the GLOBAL WARMING THAT THREATENS THE VIABILITY OF ALL THE WORLD’S ECOSYSTEMS unless we concentrate all of our efforts now in a strong and targeted way toward the generations to whom we hope to hand a sustainable world!

My experience as a teacher, as a designer, and as someone who is both passionate and active on several continents for the design of sustainable systems means that I have long believed in the empowerment of youth through knowledge, foresight and understanding.
