About
I am Nabil El-Khodari, born in Cairo, Egypt, 1951, currently a landed immigrant in Canada since 1996. I am a medical doctor by education (M.B.; B.Ch. and M.Sc. Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt) a social activist/environmentalist/communication consultant/dialogue practitioner by choice/experience/interests.
I am the founder/Acting CEO of the Nile Basin Society, Canada; a federally-registered NGO since May 2001, offering free membership to Canadian and Nile Basin citizens/CSOs. I firmly believe in open, non-moderated and comprehensive dialogue in which any stakeholder can join and express his/her opinion equally with no fear of ridicule or harassment.
I have organized a dialogue session in the 3rd World Water Forum, Kyoto, Japan (2003) entitled “Role of NGOs and Media in the Nile Basin Initiative”. I am also the organizer of the on-going Nile Dialogue e-Consultation that was quoted as one of the 3 examples of excellent local actions in the African Report to the 4th World Water Forum, Mexico (2006).
