Dear Kathy,

Celeste tells me you're quite comfortable with the electronic world now... we're all learning and I tell my ESL Computer Literacy class that I'm just a few steps ahead of them in my knowledge.

Perhaps you know about this already Kathy, but I've been meaning to tell you about a wonderful library initiative that I'd love to see here; I read about it in an ABC Life etc magazine (July/August 2007)... about borrowing people instead of books!

The article was called Books Alive and the town was Lismore. Apparently, LIsmore is the first place in Australia to run a Living Library, a program that began in Denmark in 2000 and has since spread throughout Europe and is gaining momentum in Australia. The Living Library in Lismore is open on the first Friday of every month from 11am to 2pm. The article said that the first session was a roaring success with 30 books on show and 170 people attending. What a wonderful way to talk and learn from people.

Ciao from M.
