About
I promote sustainability at the local government level (policies, programs) and in the general ("consumer") realm, though I'm completely against mindless consumerism and "growth." We do need to buy things, and using market forces in a better way (taxing carbon/fossil energy and waste) will help create the greener future we all want. So will additional family planning funding. We also need to not measure success in dollars earned, but in overall happiness and utility. We need a steady-state economy.
I'm starting a pedicab service in Oakland/Berkeley in spring 2009.
