About
I teach Economics at the American School in Mexico City. I am also proudly the product of 13 years of Quaker education in eastern Pennsylvania, and while I suppose I'm not technically Quaker, I hold the values I learned in those communities dear to my heart.
I am a passionate educator and after living for seven years in a developing nation, I've witnessed the pros and cons of globalization first hand. My Economics class over the years has become much less about traditional American-oriented "micro and macro" and much more about responsible consumerism, sustainable development, and the significant conflicts between high income countries and the up-and-coming forces like Mexico, Brazil, and India.
However, after 10 years as an educator I'm getting the itch to get more involved in research and activism. At this moment I'm contemplating a year off to travel, explore, and consider a different direction in my life. I look forward to the Moral Economy Symposium, which I hope will enlighten me with some possible options. Thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated!
