About
Karol Brown advises businesses and families on immigration law. Karol is a partner at Global Law Partners, focusing her practice on business and family immigration. She is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Washington School of Law, teaching Immigration Law.
She holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and a law degree from Yale Law School. She founded the Center for Human Rights and Justice at the University of Washington and Seattle University law schools, which enables law students to take on human rights projects for organizations throughout the world.
In addition, Karol Brown analyzed court congestion and drafted legislation for the creation of Small Claims Courts in the Philippines. She served as an attorney in a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to prevent the deportation of over 3,000 individuals to Somalia. Karol also served on the Executive Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers of Washington, and organized Continuing Legal Education programs for the organization. She has worked with the American Bar Association and the Center for Human Rights and Justice at the University of Washington to study detention conditions in immigration facilities.
Karol has also worked as a Policy and Advocacy Director for Hate Free Zone Washington. In that role, she organized a grassroots voter mobilization and media campaign for immigrant communities. She has consulted for governments, non-profit organizations and major corporations, such as Microsoft's Law and Corporate Affairs, on analyzing processes and implementing solutions.
