I use the WholEarth system to quickly indentify the problems facing any environmental situation where humans are involved.
First, I review the five elements. I use it like a mantra. Housing Water Food Energy Occupation It is very likely that the root cause of the problem is based in one or more of these five things. Your thoughts please. |

Hi, Jon. I wanted to join your conversation on sustainability, but I could not see how to add a comment. I am just learning to navigate this site. I was at the convergence and am over on Bainbridge wanting to tie Kitsap County in with the sustainability movement in Seattle. I volunteered for the Regional Council and am looking forward to working with others on this. One idea we had in the discussion is to define sustainability in basic understandable terms like: drinkable water, clean air, organic food, sustainable harvesting of food and forests, healthy populations of wildlife with protected habitat, etc. That way we would know when we reached it. How is a whole nother question. Let me know if you have any suggestions for connecting my community with what is going on in Seattle.

Hi Jon,
This is both an innovative idea as well as a great site; I need to find out how to build people onto my name ( networks) and how to better utilize this wonderful resource! Thankyou! You and Tova keep up all the good works! Janice |

Hi Jon. Thanks for inviting me into WiserEarth.org!
Talk to you soon, Alan Seid |

Thank you Jon for your comments. Can we talk about making it possible for travelers to "hook in" with social change groups where they are traveling? To know about each other. To converse with each other. To encourage and empower each other.
Peacefulworldfoundation envisions conversations between strangers, locals and travelers, in the gateway cities of the world. We envision that wherever you and I travel, we can find local hospitality entrepreneurs, hostels, cafes, b&b's where conversations take place on a regular basis and everybody is invited. We model this in San Francisco at the Peaceful World Center at the Red Victorian.
Just as one can find Rotary meetings in the cities and towns of the U.S.. we will be able to find Peaceful World Conversations happening and connecting us, in the gateway cities everywhere. How do you think we can partner, which seems to be yours, and a lot of other people's interest, meeting over Peaceful World Conversations? www.peacefulworldfoundation.org, www.redvic.com
Please team up with us and share your present goals and actions which we can partner with conversations worldwide.
Thank you and love and service,
Sami Sunchild
