About
I have dedicated my life to protecting wild places, healthy communities, and the natural systems that makes this world what it is. I have filled many capacities in this effort, in order to pursue this dedication and also to provide for myself and my loved ones. Since 1997, I've lived in British Columbia, Arizona, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
In those places I have been a director of field support and volunteer management for a scientific group in the Temperate Rainforest of British Columbia, a director of wilderness advocacy and inventory in the western deserts of Arizona, a non-profit trainer for watershed groups in Wisconsin, and an environmental science teacher in Minnesota. Ideally, my dream would be to lead scientific research trips into remote and wild places, similar to past work in BC. I am based in Minnesota and am rooted in the Twin Cities region where my wife and I hope to have a hobby farm in the rural Midwest.
For now, I work with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. I am building a new program to manage and administer Wild and Scenic River conservation easements. It's a fantastic job and I'm happy doing it.
