About

I am a longtime activist and computerfreak.  Started both in high school in the 60s (Fortran II and civil rights and anti-war movement).

I am currently vice president of the board of Growing Home (www.growinghomeinc.org), a social enterprise dedicated to teaching homeless and poor people in Chicago how to be successful urban organic farmers.

I am also on the national board of Brit Tzdek v'Shalom, an American Jewish organization dedicated to building American Jewish support for a viable negotiated 2 state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.

I have been a member of Networking for Democracy since its inception in 1990  (Carl Davidson's idea, I and others have supported his efforts over the years) as well as the 3rd wave study group.

I am currently the Chief Information Officer for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.  I am responsible for the automation that supports our Medical Programs (including Medicaid), Child Support, Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program and our Weatherization Program.
