A collection of oddities:
Normally, I don't try to cross politics with other arenas of my life, but this speech was as well written and as well delivered as anything short of what I've seen from an episode of "The West Wing". Obviously, expecting Hollywood greatness from our politicians is folly in itself, but it is rather uplifting to once again hear a speech that is stirring and inspirational - and not read from cue cards!
I have no intentions of using my profile as a political platform of any sorts, but I feel this speech is probably the first honest attempt to acknowledge the difficulties of confronting race in the United States. What Obama does, that has been unforseen for a candidate on this big of a national stage, was not only explain the issue of race from the black perspective - but also acknowledge how it is felt on the side of white America. From his speech, his segment about the "anger" that is felt by both sides is what endears this speech to me - watch it and see if you agree:
A bit about my background
Originally, I came onto NCI working for the WiserBusiness project, and have since transitioned over working on the WiserEarth project. My area of interest still remains in responsible business practices, and I'm currently applying to MBA programs for this coming admission cycle.
I work on the technical development team at NCI, starting originally as a research intern to my current position as Web Product Manager for WiserEarth. Along with Angus Parker and Peggy Duvette, I help bring ideas to life on this website. This past year, we've undertaken some really exciting initiatives, starting with the Internationalization process to make WiserEarth available in multiple languages, and some radical redesigns of the user features available on the site. Our development team is small, which means we can't roll out changes as quickly as we like, but they are coming, and we'll have many rounds of user testing and community feedback to make sure they work just as they should!
Back to the humor:
Scott Adams, creator of the cubicle-popular comic strip, Dilbert, asked his readers to describe their job in one sentence, preferably in a humorous and deprecating sorta way. Here's what were the top 50, with Scott's favorite at the bottom. My two favorites, however, are "Lifeguard" and of course - Quality Assurance Tester (I handle quite a bit of the quality assurance process for every new project release!). Read on. :)

Dear Honore,There,s a lot wrong with us here in Europe but after watching the Obama clip it seems we still have alot to teach some of you Americans about living together.Meanwhile enjoy the beauty of your countryside and music etc until we can find the time to invade you and set you on the right way.What is nice about living in these times is that bigotry,racism is being fought back against round the world and its possible If it goes on like this it could easily become a thing of the past ,hopefuly within my lifetime

Honore, you're listed as one of the technical leads on the open-source software that underlies the WiserEarth website. This is some of the slickest, fastest software of the kind that I've seen -- we're currently evaluating Drupal as a platform. The FAQs say that the source and other files are going to go public for others to use -- that was well back in 2007. How have those plans progressed?
