I am a scientist for Trout Unlimited, an organization focused on conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.  My background is primarily in molecular ecology - in my past research I have used genetics to understand population processes and patterns in trout and salmon, all with a conservation focus.  With TU I am involved in developing and implementing a GIS-based tool we use to evaluate the current status of various trout and salmon species and to understand potential future impacts, such as climate change and energy development.  One of my other main focuses is monitoring trout responses to habitat restoration and reconnection.
