About

CNY Works is Onondaga County's One-Stop Center for job-seekers and employers. We develop green jobs and help businesses adopt green business models with a regional focus in Central New York.

We work to create effective and productive collaboration between workforce development and economic development in upstate New York. In addition to our regular jobseeker & employer assistance programs, CNY Works manages a NYS DOL 13-N 5-county Green Sector (Renewable Energy & Environmental Systems) workforce development grant and an Enitiative Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professiona (LEED-AP) scholarship & training grant. Our partners on these grants includes Cayuga-Cortland and Oswego Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs) & the Madison One-Stop Center, the Syracuse Center of Excellence, the Metropolitan Development Association, the Manufacturers Association of Central New York, Partners for Education & Business, WorkKeys Center at University College/Syracuse University, the Leadership Institute, Home HeadQuarters, and the Workforce Development Institute (AFL/CIO).

Job creation and business growth strategies for Central New York that CNY Works is involved with are focused on: 1) workforce for renewable and environmental technologies, 2) sustainable business models operating on a triple bottom line (environmental, social, economic), and 3) development, business, and job creation strategies that emphasize green/clean tech and local growth.
