About

My main interests are permaculture and sustainable lifestyles.  I am a spinner/weaver dealing mostly with Tartan fabric.

I live rurally on a small mountain in Arkansas so I am buffered from fast-paced city life.

I have taken 2 Permaculture Design Courses.

I just read some of the Mulberry tree comments suggested by Rebecca.

It seems to me that even if you are not crazy about mulberries, the trees might be extremely useful.  For one, I think the quick-growing trees could be copiced; branches cut often for firewood or soft lumber, the inner bark harvested for yellow dye, and best of all is that you could raise silkworms.  I did that for years in Texas.  I can teach you how.  We have native mulberries here in Arkansas or you could choose some of the varities suggested on Rebecca's link:   http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/fruit/msg112341335835.html?18
